In June Spoken Word Antics is joined by two visitors from Manchester: John Hall and Kate Gilbert.

John Hall's poetry mixes militant politics and a biting humour with touching visions of childhood, love, and football. He is editor of Citizen 32, and his latest collection is The Drowning Fish (Bewrite Books). His 'Etc Poem' and 'And still I Cannot Wake from Their War' are featured on the ReVerberate CD.

Kate Gilbert, a poetic voice that slips effortlessly between song and speech, moody narratives to twist your heart-strings. Her song-poem 'My Sweetheart' is featured on the ReVerberate CD.

Spoken Word Antics is primarily an open mic night, but without the mic. If you'd like to perform just turn up on the night and let us know when you get there. We welcome spoken word in all its forms.
