The Exhibition
Screaming out into the darkness like an ice-cream van at midnight, Mr Barcode will expose us to a full frontal assault of total Deedahism....
Post Gimboid Llama Function was the first major Carlos Barcode exhibition. It was situated at Access Space in the heart of the cultural industries quarter of Sheffield.
The budget for the exhibition was almost zero. All boards were reclaimed from skips, and reclaimed gloss paint was acquired from Welcome Home. Studio facilities were provided courtesy of Adrenalin Studios (the world's first Deedahist record label).
Six of the ten works exhibited sold (four on the opening night). Funds raised were invested in green transport. Carlos Barcode would like to thank those generous individuals who have supported the Deedahist movement.
Amongst the greats of the Deedahist movement who turned up to the opening were Mike Yogyog Flutcher, animator, Danegeld Heinz, radical Deedahist journalist, and an assorted rabble of Unweshed anarcho-tribalists. Notable by their absence were the artist himself - Carlos Barcode, the Unweshed pioneer of Deedahism - Mandy Osmosis, and the post-vegan philosopher - Angus Wellbeing.
