Who are the Monkey Collective?
From the post-industrial wasteland of late twentieth century Sheffield emerged the anarcho-tribalists - the Unweshed. From their confused and often contradictary philosophy arose the Deedahist art movement. Deedahists seek enlightenment through confusion. The casual weaving together of truth and fiction reveals new truthes.
When arch-Deedahist Angus Wellbeing said, "the pen is mightier than the lentil," he set the scene for the creation of the Monkey Collective. The members of the Monkey Collective seek to further Deedahist ideals, and bring the message of confusion to as wide an audience as possible. Confusion and contradiction are seen as very important. In fact Mandy Osmosis's aim to create a movement that promotes random acts of confusion is attracting huge interest. How many times have you seen a single shoe in the road and wondered why? We need more solitary shoes in the road.
