When the Athenians beat Darius's Persian army at the battle of Marathon in 490 BC, nobody could have expected that it would take nearly 2500 years before a chocolate bar was named to honour the great victory. Even worse who could have predicted that Americans would insist on renaming the glorious Greek triumph - the battle of Snickers.
